WE PRAY FOR THE SICK FOR SEVERAL REASONS.

First, We believe our Savior Jesus paid for our salvation full and free. This includes sickness and disease according to the Scripture in Matt 8:16-17 "And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses." This reference to Old Testament Scripture is from Isaiah 53: "He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows,{sicknesses} yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." (Isa 53:3-5) This Scripture is again quoted by Peter in 1 Peter 2:24. It is evident that healing was provided along with the other aspects of our atonement when Jesus died on the cross.

Second, Scripture tells us healing is one of the benefits of being in covenant with God. "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies," Ps 103:2-4

Third, God actually calls Himself in Scripture "Jehovah Rapha", meaning "I am the LORD who is your healer" (Ex. 15:26) God displays His mercy and care toward us by healing us of our sickness. It is in His very nature to heal.

Fourth, Our desire is to be obedient to Scripture which states: "And these signs will follow those who believe: ... they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." (Mark 16:17-18) The gifts of the Holy Spirit also include gifts of healings. (1 Cor 12)

Fifth, Faith in God works. The power of God flows through the conduit of faith. Jesus said numerous times, according to your faith, be it unto you. (Matt. 9:29)

Sixth, According to Scripture God expects Pastoral leaders (shepherds) to heal the sick and broken. Ezek 34:2-4 'Thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds: "Woe to the shepherds of Israel ... The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost;"

Seventh, Christian compassion calls for it. No one who is an earthly father would want to watch his child suffering pain and anguish. Neither does our Heavenly Father. He loves us and wants to rescue us from destruction. He has already proven that by giving us His Son. Romans 8 goes on to say: "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Rom 8:32) As extensions of His heart, love and care to mankind, we want to do all we can to deliver what Jesus has provided through the cross to a needy mankind.

"REGARDING DIVINE HEALING"

by the Apostle Randy Muse

"My son, (frequent, go to, visit, be present at) attend to My Words...Let them not depart from your eyes; treasure [My Words] in your heart. For [My Words] are Life to those that find them, AND HEALTH TO THEIR ENTIRE BODY." -Prov. 4:20-22

In my last posting on "FOOD FOR THOUGHT", there were quite a few responses regarding comments I made regarding Divine Healing and KNOWING it to be the revealed will of God.

>"Faith is not believing God can.

>It is knowing that HE WILL."

>Faith is not believing God can heal you.

>Faith is believing God WILLS to heal you.

First of all I would like to start off by saying that I do not presume to know everything there is to know about Faith and Divine Healing, but I can understanding clearly the plainly revealed will of God in Scripture. The Word of God in Proverbs 4, verses 20-22 plainly states that the Word of God brings "radiant life" [Living Bible] and HEALING TO ALL YOUR FLESH, or every part of your Body. This means that God's treasured Word has the POWER to heal every believer of every sickness and every disease without fail and without prejudice.

Now if we say that Healing is not for all Christians, then we must conclude that the Word of God that brings "health to all your flesh" is not for every Christian either, because the Word of God brings health along with it. According to Proverbs 4:20-22, Diving Healing is for EVERYBODY THE WORD OF GOD IS FOR, to all those who Treasure God's Word in their heart.

The Word of God teaches that we are to cast down imaginations, and every high thing that raises up itself against the knowledge of God and bring into captivity EVERY THOUGHT to the obedience of Christ, Who is also in us. Is God willing to heal ALL WHO are sick, or is it God's will to heal all who are sick? some may ask. My reply is, how Big is your perception of God compared to the size of ALL SICKNESS or all the sickness in all people in Covenant relationship with Him in the Body of Christ?

First of all, there are several things to consider.

#1 Not all are saved even though God is not willing that any should perish because not all appropriate the blessing of Salvation through Faith in Jesus Christ. In the same light, not all appropriate the blessing of Divine Health because not all HAVE ABSOLUTE FAITH that Jesus desires to heal them NOW! The Bible says that NOW Faith is. If you had absolute faith that Jesus is your Healer NOW, then your healing would manifest NOW. We need to pray for God to help us in our weak faith so that we can be able to receive every blessing that God has Promised us in His Word in this lifetime as well as the one to come.

#2 We must note that not only can God HEAL EVERY SINGLE SICK MEMBER of the Body of Christ, but it is recorded in Scripture that GOD DID HEAL EVERY SINGLE SAINT WALKING ON EARTH WHEN MOSES WAS ALIVE (Psalm 105:36-45). Is it impossible for God to repeat the same miracle over and over again? Can we honestly say that because it is not happening this very moment that it must not be God's will? Do circumstances dictate the Truth over the Word of God? The more people question Salvation through faith and the reality of Jesus Christ, the less people get saved. The more people question Divine Healing and Health through faith, the less people get healed. Maybe less people are getting healed today because there are more people questioning with their reasoning if it is God's will to heal all.

#3 EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO TURNED TO JESUS FOR HEALING GOT HEALED. There is not a single case in the Scripture where Jesus told a person, "It is not my will to heal you." When Jesus delayed the healing of a person which resulted in death, the end result was that a GREATER MIRACLE OCCURRED!!! That person was raised from the dead!!! There are many places in the Scripture where the Bible records that ALL WHO WERE SICK AND OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL WERE HEALED. It is even recorded in the Book of Acts that ALL WERE healed under the continuing ministry of Jesus Christ in the lives of the Apostles. If we are to continue IN THE SAME serving example of Jesus Christ, then we had better start believing that God wants TO HEAL ALL TOO!!! Aren't we called to Christ-Like ministry? If all got healed who believe under Christ's ministry, shouldn't we believe that all can get healed through our ministry service to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as well?

#4 The only places where Jesus could not do "many mighty works" were the places that were plagued with "unbelief". How Big is your sickness? How Big is your perception of God? Is your God BIG ENOUGH to have a will that wants to heal all TODAY?

So you see, it doesn't matter what the size or the vastness is of our problems, our sicknesses, or our sins. What matters is the SIZE and the VASTNESS of Jesus Christ, our Savior. What matters is the vastness of His willingness to heal our bodies, to deliver us OUT OF ALL OUR troubles, and heal our bodies of its every sickness and disease.

Man perceives God to be lacking the willingness to heal some for the greater good of them being with Him in Heaven. And I agree, it is far better for the individual to be with God than to be here on earth, but for the purposes of God in saving mankind, it is better for the message that is in you to stay behind so that your life may be a Light that leads others to Christ. The Word of God says that we as believers have and Unction or an Anointing from the Holy One. If your spirit leaves your body, where then is the Light and the Anointing and the Eye Salve for others to see Christ in this lifetime through your life of serving God for man to see the Way to Salvation through you living out the Christ-Like life? Man doesn't doubt God's ability, but we are guilty of doubting His willingness and His LOVE to actually make these things happen for us and for the lost IN THIS LIFETIME. We should avoid pre-mature death on every occasion and at all cost. We should be seeking our healing, not so much for ourselves, but for the purpose of seeing others be led to the Lordship of Jesus Christ through the testimony of God's Great willingness to deliver us from our every sickness and our every sin, and so that we may be ALIVE to take the Gospel message to them in the Name and Power of our Lord Jesus Christ! What message will your life give the living from the Grave?

It's not His ability that heals us, but rather His willingness because of His Great Love. Jesus didn't die on the Cross because of His ability and because He was able to endure it, He died on the Cross because of His Great Willingness to see us set free from the bondage of sickness, poverty, and sin. Read Psalm 105 and visit our Archives (http://www.listbot.com/archive/GospelTopics) and read my article "500 FEET TALL JESUS" for more details on God's willingness to deliver us from poverty, sickness, sin, and disease, according to Psalm 105.

And to those who think my doctrine and message brings false hope to believers. I have yet to hear of a Believer who was believing for God to heal them in this lifetime, only to end this lifetime in disappointment through finding God in the beginning of their Eternal Life in His Presence, healed forevermore.

It's far better to live in the face of death believing, rather than to be dead in this life doubting the revealed will of God!!!

"My son, (frequent, go to, visit, be present at) attend to My Words...Let them not depart from your eyes; treasure [My Words] in your heart. For [My Words] are Life to those that find them, AND HEALTH TO THEIR ENTIRE BODY." -Prov. 4:20-22

PART TWO

"Questions Regarding Faith & Divine Healing"

by Apostle Randy Muse

WE are all in agreement that God still does desire to heal today, and does as a matter of fact still heal people today. But what we seem to be disagreeing upon is when God desires to heal the Believer, or all Believers. We know that there are some in the Body of Christ who don't believe that miracles are for today, but for them I wonder how they will be raised into glorified bodies if miracles have ceased for the physical body? But for this list, for the most part at least, we at least have a foundation of agreement upon which we can begin to build unity in this discussion.

Too many Believers, I am afraid, do not understand the significance of Divine Healing and the role it plays in our Salvation and what Divine Healing is intended to mean in the life of the Believer.

My question is this: What role does 'Faith' have in Divine Healing if healing is based strictly upon the Sovereignty of God alone?

Matthew 8:13 records that, "Jesus said to the Centurion, 'Go your way, and AS YOU HAVE BELIEVED it will be done for you.' And his servant was healed that very hour."

Matthew 9:2 records, 'And behold, they brought to Him [Jesus] a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed; and Jesus SEEING THEIR FAITH said to the one who was sick of the palsy, 'Son, be of good cheer, YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN'....(vs. 6) 'But that you may KNOW that the Son of Man [Jesus] has power on earth to FORGIVE SINS,' then He said to the sick of palsy, 'Stand up, take up your mat, and go home.' And he stood up, and went to his home."

Why is forgiveness used here as the foundation upon which Jesus healed this man? Jesus healed this man so that "you may KNOW that the Son of Man has power on earth to FORGIVE SINS," according to Scripture.

In Matthew 9:22 the Scripture records that, "When Jesus saw her, He said, 'Daughter, be of good comfort, YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WHOLE (completely well).' And the woman was made whole (completely well) that very hour."

In Matthew 15:28 the Scripture records, "Then Jesus answered and said to her, 'O woman, GREAT IS YOUR FAITH, it shall be done for you as you desire for it to be done.' And her daughter was made whole from that very hour."

In Matthew 9:29 the Scripture records, "Then Jesus touched their eyes saying, "'ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH IT SHALL BE SO FOR YOU.' And their eyes were opened."

Maybe it seems like a coincidence to some, but the Scripture seems to clearly indicate to me that healing, faith, God, and the will of the individual desiring healing all have something to do within these occurrences of Divine Healing taking place.

In Matthew 13:58 the Scripture records that Jesus, "Did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief." This Scripture clearly indicates that a lack of faith results in NOT MANY MIGHTY WORKS. Why was Jesus unable to do many mighty works because of unbelief (or lack of faith) if Divine Healing rests upon the Sovereignty of God without the cooperation of the human will?

To the Centurion JESUS [GOD] said, "'AS YOU HAVE BELIEVED'....And his servant was healed..."JESUS [GOD] healed the man sick of palsy..."SEEING THEIR FAITH....'That you might know that the Son of Man has POWER on earth to forgive sins ...'"To another JESUS [GOD] said, "YOUR FAITH has made you whole". To the blind men JESUS [GOD] said, "'ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH it shall be done for you'...And there eyes were opened." And yet to another still He [JESUS, GOD IN THE FLESH] said, "'O woman, GREAT IS YOUR FAITH, it shall be done for you as you desire'...and her daughter was made whole from that very hour."

The evidence is there in Scripture. Now all that is left is for you to discover what does this all mean?

The Word of God says, "ALL WHO CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED. And all who put their trust in Him will not be put to shame (will not be disappointed over so great a Savior)."

Should we stop telling the World about the Savior because the World is full of sin? Rather, we should tell the World ALL THE MORE about the Savior. And we should tell the Body of Christ ALL THE MORE about Jesus the Healer because the Body of Christ is so full of sickness and disease. Let me remind you, we aren't called to be messengers of our conditions, we are called to be messengers of the Word of God. The Word of God says:

"The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of ALL THEIR TROUBLES." Ps. 34:17

He is the LORD "Who forgives all your iniquities; AND HEALS ALL YOUR DISEASES." Ps. 103:3-- We teach that God forgives ALL OUR SINS, but doesn't heal all our diseases, but the Word of God says in the same way that He FORGIVES, He HEALS...ALL!!! Complete Salvation!!!

"He sent His Word, and HEALED THEM, and delivered them from their destructions [things that would destroy them]." Ps. 107:20

"And call upon Me in the day of trouble: I WILL DELIVER YOU, and you shall glorify me." Ps. 50:15 --It is in God's best interest to heal because healing glorifies the Healer!!!

"In the day of my trouble I will call upon You: for You WILL answer me." Ps. 86:7

"Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved:" Jeremiah 17:14

"Then He called His...disciples together, and gave them POWER AND AUTHORITY OVER ALL [ALL] DEVILS, and to cure diseases. AND HE SENT THEM TO PREACH THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND TO HEAL THE SICK." Luke 9:1-2

--- As disciples gathered together, we have been given power and authority over ALL DEVILS, and power and authority to cure diseases. Our commission is NOT ONLY to preach the Kingdom of God, but also TO HEAL THE SICK. THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN "SENT" TO DO.

"O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You have healed me." Psalm 30:2

"I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." Ps. 34:4

"Then they cried out to the Lord IN THEIR TROUBLE, and He delivered them out of their distresses." Ps. 107:6

Don't preach your condition, preach the solution, the Word of God, Jesus Christ, the Healer, Yesterday, Today, and Forever!!!!

PART 3

HEALING NOW for ALL

by EzekielWar.com

When Moses and the children of Israel were in the desert none of the diseases of the Egyptians came on them. No, they weren't healed---they were already walking in health. The Bible says in Rom 15:4 and 1 Cor 10:11 that these things are to teach us. We should also walk in health. If you are not in health, God wants to heal you right now, so you can walk in His provision of health.

Though sickness is NOT always from your personal sin, there was a time when the children of Israel got into sin, and were bitten by fiery serpents as punishment. The people looked to the brazen serpent that God had commanded Moses to make. ALL who looked were healed. Likewise, ALL who look to the finished work of Calvary shall be saved. "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even must the Son of man be lifted up." "... If I be lifted up from the earth, [I] will draw ALL men unto Me." [Jn. 12:32]

This salvation includes healing or being made whole, not only spiritually, but physically. "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." [3 Jn. v.2]

The words, save, Savior, and salvation all come from 'sozo', meaning: save and heal or be made whole. So as the Spirit draws ALL men unto Jesus for salvation [Jn. 12:32], they are also being drawn unto physical healing, if they will believe for it. Remember the brazen serpent? ALL who looked on it were healed.

"[God,] Who[se] will [is to] have ALL men to be saved [sozo]." [1 Tim 2:4] At the grand finale, God won't save everyone, but He would like to. It's the same with healing. If you want to be a "whosever," go for it.

The name of God revealed to Moses was "I Am that I Am", or "I Was, I Am, I Will Be". Later on, the Lord revealed Himself as "Jehovah Rapha", "I Am the God that Healeth thee". He is still the Great I Am, and He wants to heal you NOW, because He exists NOW, and is a rewarder of them that seek Him as Healer. If you will appropriate the faith, it's yours for the taking. Don't let a few misguided seminary professors defraud you.--Some self-appointed scholars want to rip Mk. 16:17,18 out of the Bible: "These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and THEY SHALL RECOVER." It has been mathematically proven that no verse, word, or letter can be removed or moved from the textus receptus from which the King James was translated, or else the perfect numerical fabric of the Bible will be broken. Mark chapter sixteen belongs there.

Jesus healed the multitudes because He had compassion on them.

Does He still have compassion today? Does He love you personally?

If He died for you, He also wants to heal you. The Blood paid for both items. The Father loves you as much as His own Son, Jesus.

If we preach that Jesus might want to heal somebody, but maybe not you, sometime, but maybe not now; who would ever get healed? Nobody gets healed because they deserve it. Healing comes with the "grace" package.

We're not talking about 'name it and claim it' or 'blab it and grab it' or get rich schemes; no, we are talking about appropriating the full promise of salvation and ALL it entails.

On rare occasions, some ministers have the appearance of condemning or belittling their listeners in regard to the audience's lack of faith. This is their way of exhortation so as to stir up the congregation's zeal. Notice, however, that although Jesus rebuked His apostles for their lack of faith in Mark chapter nine, He did not rebuke the father of the demoniac boy for that man's lack of faith. The truth is, the leader is to lead by example, not as lords over God's heritage. It is the elders' responsibility to pray the prayer of faith for the sick [James Ch. 5], especially when the afflicted victim is numbed by circumstances and cannot grasp hold upon the anchor of hope. We see in Mark Ch. 9 also that sometimes healing or deliverance is not immediate, because lengthy prayer and fasting is required first. In addition to Bible study, prayer and fasting are needed to sharpen the ears of our spirit, since faith comes by hearing the rhema/spoken Word of God.

If God does not heal during each prayer, the minister need not be ashamed. He spoke the Word. The rest is God's responsibility. We can't stop declaring, "God wants to heal you NOW," just because some are not healed NOW. Jesus offers to stand in the gap for us, when our faith is weak. --The father of the demoniac boy said, "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief!" [Mk. 9:24]

Historically, it is recorded that God's healing power throughout the world has been poured out in waves, advancing and then ebbing away, or one could say, accelerating and then slowing down; the process is all part of the original Joel 2:28-32 outpouring.

Many believers, including myself, believe we are on the edge of a exponential increase of this outpouring that will carry us through the endtimes as we "do exploits" [Dan. 11:32] "The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former." [Haggai 2:9] The signs in the heavens accompanying this outpouring of the Spirit are the signs depicted in the Book of Revelation.

Eventually God is going to place us all in a position where we must take a stand on healing and a lot of other related issues. Each Christian will have to get on one side of the fence or the other. (Part 4: "Job's Affliction / Paul's Thorn")
