Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost
"Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: 30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit." Mark 3:28-30 INTRODUCTION: Have you blasphemed the Holy Ghost??? -- If you are worried about it, then you HAVEN'T DONE IT. When a person blasphemes the Holy Ghost, they don't care anymore. You say: "Well, I didn't care for years, but I care now." NO. The one that blasphemes the Holy Ghost never regrets it in this life, and they enjoy the ride, until they run off the cliff to Hell! So if you care whether or not you have blasphemed the Holy Ghost, you have NOT done so.
Many people think that Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost means to:
THEY AREN'T BLASPHEMY OF THE HOLY GHOST!
BLASPHEMY OF THE HOLY GHOST MEANS "TO KNOWINGLY ATTRIBUTE TO SATAN THAT WHICH GOD IS DOING" Briefly return to the top of this page and read verse thirty in Mark Chapter three. Now notice Verse 22: "And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He [Jesus] hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils." HOW DID THEY BLASPHEME? "Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit."!!! In the days of the ministry of Jesus, the pharisees knew the Old Testament better than most people. The pharisees should have been the first to recognize a miracle of God, but they were willfully blinded by envy. They felt the power of God and saw the clearly GOOD miracles, but yet they insisted that the devil did the healings of infirmities and casting out of demons. They were CONVICTED in their heart that the power was from God and DENIED it until they believed their own lie. THE DEFINITION OF DECEPTION IS TO REPEAT THE LIE UNTIL IT BECOMES TRUTH TO YOURSELF. A person is not accidentally deceived; at some point there is a "knowing" choice to exchange the truth for a lie. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FALL FROM GRACE? Falling from grace is NOT the same as blasphemy of the the Holy Spirit, although both of these two sins lead to hell:
I'm glad you asked. People that are well-churched often get their definition of Blaspheming the Holy Ghost confused after they have read Hebrews. It is crucial to observe that Mark both uses the PRECISE expression "blaspheme against the Holy Ghost", and additionally, Jesus DEFINES it: -- They [the scribes] said Jesus had an UNCLEAN spirit. Notice that Hebrews doesn't use that specific term regarding 'blaspemy', but yes, Hebrews is clearly talking about losing your salvation in another way: Heb.6:4 "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away [from grace], to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." Heb:10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins." "There is a sin unto death" 1 Jn.5:16 -- "There is a sin NOT unto death" 1 Jn.5:17 They tasted of the Holy Spirit, but they did not swallow. That is, they did not receive. They tasted that which is good, and spat it out. Just as God will spew the lukewarm church out of His mouth. They weren't really in Him. Jesus said that if you don't eat His flesh and His blood, "you have no life in you". He said that He spoke this about the SPIRIT. Flesh and blood do not profit. When you receive Jesus, you receive the Holy Ghost, and no man can pluck you out of the hand of the Father. No creature can separate you from His love. To receive Jesus doesn't mean to take communion or to be water baptized. Jesus stands at the door of your heart knocking; when you surrender the Lordship of your life to Jesus Christ, He enters your heart to stay. "Christ in you" means that the Holy Spirit is in you. He is the seal of the promises of God.
HOW DO YOU FALL FROM GRACE? Galatians 3:2 "This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?" Galatians 1:6 "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ" Rom.14:23 "Whatsoever [salvation] is not of faith is sin." Galatians 5:4 "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are FALLEN FROM GRACE" So to "fall from grace" means to trust in good deeds, self-righteousness, church attendance, tithing, 'perfect' doctrine, clean living, keeping the Ten Commandments, and anything else that YOU do. ONLY the works of JESUS are sufficient to save, and that work was done once and is FINISHED. The work is DONE, so that when we're saved, we come into REST, not into WORK. Like you, I'm tired of crowd-pleasing preachers on TV and radio that only talk about grace, grace, grace, grace; but they don't tell you that grace enables a person to conquer sin. Grace is not an umbrella to cover your favorite sin. The Bible also says that "Faith if it hath not works, is dead, being alone" James 2:17. Hast thou faith? ... "the devils also believe and tremble". 2 Cor.13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves." This means, now that you understand that YOU HAVE NOT BLASPHEMED THE HOLY GHOST, you should thank and bless the Lord Jesus Christ by letting Him work in you and through you. When the Bible says to "work out your salvation" [Philippians 2:12], it means, to figure OUT how salvation works. It doesn't say 'work' or 'buy' your salvation, but work it "OUT". Since Jesus is SALVATION [that's really his name, the LORD Saves, JEH-SOUS], let Him work in you [Philippians 2:13], arising to the surface of your life, so others can see His face in your face. It's like the Potter working the mass of clay til it's perfected, or the Master Baker kneading the bread dough til it's ready for the marriage Supper of the Lamb. We are NOT saved by works, but our works SHALL follow us into Heaven. So we arrive WITH works, not BY works. Prepositions are very important! Absence of works shows absence of faith. Jesus is working in us until the Bride of Christ is perfected, and then the End of this Age shall come. And now, the end of this page has come. Be blessed!!
