Bahai

The Bahai religion teaches that their prophet is a manifestation of God who is greater than Jesus Christ. The religion denies other fundamental truths of Christianity.

Bahaullah (1817 - 1892) was a Persian religious leader and co-founder of the Bahai faith.

The Bahai Faith was formed from the Iranian religion of the Bab, a Shiite merchant who began preaching a new interpretation of Shia Islam in 1844. The Bab's claim to divine revelation was rejected by the generality of Islamic clergy in Iran, ending in his public execution by authorities in 1850.

1. The Greatest Prophet?:

The first difference between Bahai and Christianity is that Bahais believe that Bahaullah was a greater manifestation of God than Moses, Muhammad, Buddha, or the Christian Messiah.

Christianity, however, teaches that Christ is the only way to God. John 14:6 says, "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Philosophically, it is impossible for religions with mutually-exclusive doctrines to be equally valid. Where we find contradiction, we must find error. Either Christ was wrong or He was right when He claimed to be the only path to God. It is simple logic, not spiritual elitism.
"In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe" - Hebrews 1:1-2.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" - John 3:16.
"I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints" - Jude 3 (NKJV).

2. Unification of all Religions:

A fundamental belief of the Bahai faith is that all peoples and religions will unite into one -- the Bahai religion. Believing in the oneness of humanity and the pursuit of world peace is foundational to them. Bahai teaches this world peace is possible through the "abolition of all forms of prejudice and the extremes of wealth and poverty".

It is interesting that Christianity teaches that the unification of all religions is the work of our enemy, Satan, which the devil will attempt in the last years before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. An anti-christ global dictator will be the leader of this future ungodly universal religion.
"What concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?" - 2 Corinthians 6:15,16.

3. Bahai believes humans are inherently good:

Christianity teaches that all humans are born with inbred natural sin inherited from the first man and woman, Adam and Eve.
"There is none that doeth good, no, not one" - Psalm 14:3.
We must be born again from above by the Holy Spirit through a total belief in the LORD Jesus Christ as the only Savior of mankind by virtue of His sacrificial death and His resurrection power. New birth requires first a person's godly sorrow concerning sin, and then a surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. New birth will then enable holy acts of goodness through Christ working within us.
4. Bahai denies fundamental truths of Christianity

Bahai explicitly denies objective truth claims of Christianity such as the Triunity of God, virgin birth, incarnation, resurrection, and second coming of Christ.

GOD HAS PURCHASED THE CHURCH WITH HIS OWN BLOOD (Acts 20:28)

"Christ: ... in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily" - Colossians 2:8,9

The ultimate hope of the world and only sacrifice for sin is found in Christianity, which preaches that the penalty for our sin has already been paid by the death of the perfect Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Not only did He die, but also Jesus arose bodily. His resurrection and subsequent sending of the Holy Spirit to indwell believers enables Christians to defeat death and to live as Jesus lives, walking in holiness. The truth of this teaching is confirmed by signs and wonders:

Mark 16:17,18 - "These signs shall follow them that believe; in My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
